ISV Spotlight: Ratchetsoft Xtend

RatchetSoft integrates StrikeIron Marketplace Web Services into their Contact Xtend product thus enabling users to verify and enhance contact data contained in any application they use.

Contact Xtend is built upon RatchetSoft’s Ratchet-X desktop integration platform which allows software users to add new features to their applications via the integration of Web services. StrikeIron Marketplace Web Services embody the new features Contact Xtend customers add to their existing applications.

Problem

Most user integration and application enhancement requests go unimplemented forcing users to continually re-key, cut and paste data from one application to another or simply do without. However, Web services is ushering in an era where business users will be able to link Web services directly to existing applications thus supplementing those applications with new behaviors. Giving users greater integration control over the applications they use empowers them to be more productive than ever before.

Solution

The promise of Contact Xtend could only be realized if powered by a suite of commercial grade Web services. RatchetSoft leveraged the StrikeIron Marketplace API to create an offering that allows users to perform the following on application contact data:

• Do Not Call screening
• Address verification
• Residential Lookup
• Business and Government Lookup
• Email verification
• Reverse phone number lookup

StrikeIron’s Marketplace was the perfect choice to power Contact Xtend because all the marketplace services share a unified access and commerce interface. Further, as new relevant services are added to the marketplace, RatchetSoft can add them to Contact Xtend in a matter of hours versus weeks.
