Senior Software Developer(s)
Interested in working on exciting, state of the art, Web services development
projects? Then join the StrikeIron development team! StrikeIron is the world
wide leader in Web Services commercialization providing the world’s largest
library of commercially available Web services across many different
categories. Our Web Services Commerce Platform serves as a Marketplace for
providers and consumers of XML-based Web services to subscribe to and build
applications and websites using distributed Web services. Enabling the
Programmable Web, our core technology provides self-service publishing and
consumption of Web services, micro-transactions and usage-based billing,
software infrastructure, multiple productivity tools, and a consistency of
usage from multiple Web services across multiple vendors. As a senior software
developer on the StrikeIron team, you will be responsible for the design,
development, and testing of both Web services and the cutting edge software and
Internet technology offerings in the emerging Web services and service-oriented

Job Description:

Software Development Project Manager
The selected candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working as a Technical Project Manager, managing IT projects involving software, hardware, infrastructure and 3rd party products. On a day to day basis, the Project Manager will be handling multiple projects and has the primary responsibility for the quality of a project's deliverables and its successful completion. The ideal candidate should be able to handle a high volume of tasks and have a technical background.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between development and other members of the company.
- Review status of projects, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses project issues and work to develop resolutions to meet goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with the developers, marketing and sales organizations.
- Negotiate and Resolve conflicts. Prioritize issues and recommending win/win solutions.
- Determine and recommend necessary organizational resources, including staff and funds.
- Work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast paced environment.
- Work closely with the Management team in the design, development and delivery of new software products and new versions of existing products that meet quality standards, budgets and timelines.
- Motivate staff to overcome obstacles and embrace a culture that thinks in terms of zero defects and exceeding customer expectations.
- Provide input and support to the management team in various initiatives such as proposals, demos, sales initiatives, development of software solutions or pricing models, etc.
Requirements:
- Experience in formal project management of software projects
- Experience in delivery of technology solutions
- Experience with web-based applications, database technologies, and Internet technologies
- Customer focused, team oriented, self motivated, with Strong interpersonal and communications skills, preferably in a cross-functional and fast paced environment

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, at least five years of progressive experience in IT environment and project management

Database Administrator (DBA)
StrikeIron, Inc., is looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL DBA for a permanent position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in supporting enterprise class SQL and Windows Server environments. The candidate must additionally have Internet based business applications experience. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure data integrity is maintained by planning and conducting structured testing
- Configure and manage database redundancy
- Assist in data modeling efforts by working with our development teams
- Develop, revise, and implement policies, standards, procedures and rules in order to administer the database environment
- Create, execute and monitor Data Transfer Services (DTS) and Integration Services (SSIS) packages, both ad-hoc and as scheduled processes to move and transform data as needed
- Document and maintain database system specifications, including diagrams
- Monitor SQL Servers for excessive loads and contention that may impact performance
- Assist in performance tuning, including server profiling and index tuning
- Remain proficient with current and future SQL Server technology; test and plan upgrades to the SQL Server environment
- Develop, test and administer database security procedures and recovery procedures
- Evaluate database needs and make recommendations to management when necessary
- Perform emergency off-hour support of production systems for database problem resolution
- Tracking performance, utilization, platform growth, and adherence to service metrics for assigned customers
- Support all departments by developing reports to be used both internally and by customers
- Ensure compliance with operations processes and policies
Qualifications:
- Experience implementing MS SQL Server (2005) solutions in a variety of application environments
- Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining database infrastructures.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in resolving database performance and throughput issues.
- Demonstrate technical leadership in SQL as well as within the Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Working knowledge of high availability database architectures.
- Working knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
- Experience implementing database solutions on SAN and NAS storage environments
- Conversant with the benefits and trade-off’s of the most popular RAID and storage configurations.
- Advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Windows operating system (2003, XP, Vista)
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
